Dammar Varnish Mat 24280082
Purpose: Traditional final varnish. Gives paintings a uniform eggshell gloss and protection
Composition: Dammar resin, turpentine, matting agents (silicas)
Qualities:
- Final varnish. Dries in a few hours
- May show signs of ageing after some time such as yellowing and craquelures
- Gives oil colours a mat finish
- Inhibits the ageing process of underlying oil paint
- Removable with mild solvents; can be thinned with turpentine
- Apply when paint film has completely dried (6 to 12 months depending on the paint film thickness)
- The gloss can be adjusted by mixing with Dammar Varnish Glossy 081
